Supporting those who are or were Nonresident Aliens with tax services & education
We provide free tax services and support through the IRS VITA program.
If you have a school, non-profit, or government email you are eligible for membership and to access free tax services!
Our primary target population is F/J/M/Q visa holders - international students, scholars, teachers, researchers, and staff. We help nonresident and resident aliens, along with U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Our services support low- to moderate-income individuals in meeting their tax filing obligations.
We have been helping international visitors meet their tax obligations since 2012!
Headquartered in Minnesota’s twin cities, the NonResident Tax Help Group’s mission is to provide tax services and education to those who are or were nonresident aliens. Originally part of a student organization at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, in 2019 we reorganized as a non-profit corporation to enable us to serve a broader community. We are a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the Internal Revenue Service.
We partner with universities throughout the United States to provide free tax assistance for their international students, scholars, teachers, and researchers through the IRS VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
