Through the IRS VITA program, and thanks to grants from the IRS and MN Dept.of Revenue we provide:
Free tax software that will prepare and electronically file federal and state tax returns.
Online tools and guides that help students prepare most or all of their returns on their own
For those that need more help, individual support through email, remote office hours, and tax clinic appointments.
Training and operational support to help you operate an on-site tax clinic
We are expanding our services and looking for new partners to help us grow!

NonResident Volunteer Tax Assistance Program (NRVTAP)
NRVTAP (The NonResident Volunteer Tax Assistance Program) is a University of Minnesota - Twin Cities student organization.
NRVTAP helped recruit and train 33 volunteers, and hosted our training sessions and 20 tax clinics! They are our most important partner, and the volunteer engine that drives our services!

University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
The UofM-TC International Student & Scholar Services group provides support to help us recruit volunteers and advertise our services. They host a tax orientation at the start of the tax filing season to help international students learn about their tax filing obligations and the free resources that are available.
We had 2,124 UofM members, and helped 680 UofM students at tax events during the TY2022 filing season. We also helped 33 UofM students get their ITINs!

Lehigh University Office of International Students & Scholars
Lehigh OISS helped recruit 7 volunteers and hosted 4 tax clinics.
We had 470 Lehigh students join as members, and helped 170 Lehigh students at tax events during the TY2022 filing season.

Appalachian State University
We had 2 volunteers at Appalachian State that assisted 25 students at 4 on-campus tax clinics. Overall there were a total of 83 members from App State, and additional 28 students got help at our remote tax clinics and office hours.

The International Student Services group at Duluth provides advertising for our services, helping 97 students register as members. They also hosted a tax clinic where we helped 41 students prepare their tax returns.

Washington State University Hoops Tax Institute
TY2024 is the second year of our partnership with WSU Hoops Tax Institute. This year we have partnered to train volunteers and offer in-person tax clinics on campus.
